GENERAL ELECTIONS RESULTS

On December 14, 2002, COGA held General Elections, at the Embassy, to choose
Executive Officers to lead the Council, and to manage its affairs over the
next 2 years. The election proceeded without any hitches, and a few of the
positions were passionately contested. The elections were conducted and
managed by Gil Jones-Quartey, the Elections Commissioner,and was assisted by
Ms. Elizabeth Nyantakyi, Head of Chancery, Ghana Embassy.

Although the incumbent Chairman, Margaret Ampofo, was returned to her
position unopposed, other positions were highly contested. A reception
followed the proceedings.
