GCG Foundation is the non-profit division of Ghana Cyber Group,
Inc.
In November 2002, the foundation was
incorporated as 501(c)(3) in the United States.
The U.S. 501(c)(3) classification gives the GCG
Foundation a tax exemption status. Under this arrangement,
all persons and organizations that make contributions
(money or property) to GCG Foundation will be able
to claim deductions for their donations on the their
individual federal income tax forms. GCG Foundation
is currently working on three projects.
(i) Health
Project. A multi million fundraising
drive to rebuild Ghana hospitals and protect the
environment.
(ii) The
Ghana Digital Project seeks to expand
computer and Internet access to all Ghanaian universities
at an accelerated pace.
(iii) The
Book Project: Shipping books to Ghanaian
universities. The first three shipments, addressed
to Prof. JKM Quartey of Legon for distribution to
the University of Ghana Medical School and the UST
School of Medical Sciences, left New York and Richmond,
Virginia between August and November 2002.
