| A
multi-million fundraising drive to rebuild Korle-Bu
Teaching Hospital
This venture is due to be officially
launched at a grand event on the weekend of March
6, 2003 in the United States. GCG plans to invite
a team of doctors from Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital
for this event. Names mentioned so far include Dr.
Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, Chief Executive of Korle-Bu
Teaching Hospital.
Our mission is to improve the health
of Ghanaians home and abroad. This can only be achieved
if we all join hands in the spirit of giving and
volunteerism. GCGF's health division will:
1. Embrace diverse subject areas to
protect human dignity.
2. Conduct and synthesize research
and guide practice toward the most effective policies
and programs that promote health and reduce risk
behaviors.
3. Work with partners around the globe,
multi-national corporations, non-governmental and
governmental organizations, local enterprises, Charitable
organizations and Foundations to generate solutions
to complex challenges in health.
The International Initiative for Africa's Development
(IIAD) is the first health initiative sponsored
by GCGF. The IIAD Project will:
1. Promote health.
2. Protect the Environment.
3 Educate the Public.
We plan to strengthen programmes to contain communicable
diseases. Mobilize resources required to build effective
disease intervention and secure health systems.
Proper disposal of biohazards and infectious waste
as well as municipal waste is our priority. Renovation
of hospitals nationwide beginning with Korle is
about to kick off.
